I deeply appreciate the assistance from all those who responded and I hope I can return some knowledgeable advice one day to this forum. I am not sure how it was enabled or if its enabled by default or if me upgrading my Digi 003 firmware caused the issue. Pretty slick I say, but I think this works with a control surface.
It appears that the Recording Light functions this way- Lets say you are recording some one and you have a recording sign located in your studio or outside the door, as soon as you record enable a track for recording in Logic the recording light will light up informing people that a recording session is in progress. Anyway I delted the instance of Recording Light in the preferences of Logic and immediately the lights went away and I could assign sounds to my pads on the mpc. I assume Logic was thinking that the Digi 003 was a control surface for whatever reason. It was as issue with this app/software entitled Recording Light. Or the 003 factory being about the same depending where you look. This issue has been resolved thanks to all of you. Or you can find the new one for about 800-1000.
Plus you can find an older mackie control for around 300 if you search for it. I would assume it will work because it's just preamps and faders but I wouldn't rely on it. That's not to say you can't use it, but they are officially dropping support for it. My instructor has an 003 rack and he's trying to decide something similar to you about what to get because of them dropping support. But that's just official support so your mileage may vary when actually using old things.Īnd from what I've heard they are dropping all the 003 stuff, As well as a lot of other big consoles and little peripherals like mbox2 and before. Native is still here for sure, but they are dropping so much old hardware it's crazy. They are dropping the tdm architecture completely and replacing it with HD|X utilizing the AAX plugin format. So, /r/audioengineering, who among you owns/uses these machines? Can you think of anything pertinent that will help me make an informed purchase?
3 in 1 Full Protective Cover for Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, Purple. This expanded compatibility comes with a caveat - lesser control of PT than the 003, and probably more of a learning curve and setup hassle. Edition Case Urban Armor Gear by EGO Tactical - Dont Tread on Me Flag/Digi Camo. The 002 revolutionized the home studio, and the 003 continues that with additional 'wow'-factor features. Also new to the 003 is a pair of control room outputs in addition to the dedicated monitor outputs.
Unlike the 003, it works with other DAWs (I currently use PT, Logic, Cubase, and Reason but I ) so that is nice. The 003 is also equipped with word clock I/O making it super-easy to sync Pro Tools LE with external digital devices. On the downside, this cheaper price means no i/o. On the upside, it is cheaper than the 003 and is expandable. The Mackie Control presents a conundrum for me.
However, the price is making me think twice because I would only be able to use it with Pro Tools. I can get a used 003 for a decent price, and given its similarities to the C24 I would have no problem adjusting to it. The Mini is designed for a wide range of industrial, medical, agricultural and transportation applications, including Internet of Things (IoT), human machine interface (HMI), equipment monitoring, audio/voice, graphics/video, edge computing and machine. I think I have gotten to the point that buying my own control surface is a worthwhile investment. Digi ConnectCore® 8M Mini, based on the NXP® i.MX 8M Mini application processor, is a secure integrated system-on-module (SOM) platform. My workflow has improved by using these control surfaces. I really prefer the C24, just because you can reach everything without getting up. Okay, so as far as my situation goes: I have gotten quite comfortable at school with a C24, D-Command, and D-control. Hey engineers, I would like to hear the thoughts of whoever uses the MCU Pro or the DIGI 003 with Pro Tools.
